17 year old Sonny (Lower Sixth) recently competed in the South of England Championships as an Under 20 - and managed a new personal best of 55.10m. This placed him in 4th place which is all the more impressive considering some of his competitors were 19 years old! Sonny also attended the England Championships, ranked 13th, with an impressive throw of 53.26m, finishing in 10th place.
Sonny has been selected to throw in the Under 20 age category for the Kent squad and in the Senior Men’s Kent squad for the upcoming inter-regional championships. To be considered good enough to compete in the Men’s competition is a testament to Sonny’s hard work and talent. On the 8th and 9th July, Sonny will be competing in the English Schools Athletics Championship where he hopes to achieve a new personal best.
Good Luck Sonny!
