Sports and leisure
Pupils have access to a number of facilities within each House. School House has a Games Room where there is table tennis, a pool table and a table football game. St Margaret’s House has a table tennis table, a treadmill and an exercise bike in its Day Room. Each House has computer facilities both in the Computer room and internet points in bedrooms. There is a small library of both reference and fiction books for pupil use together with a number of board games. There are also well-equipped kitchens and television lounges with Sky TV and X-Box facilities. Within School House grounds is a tennis court which also has a netball court, 5-a-side football goals and a basketball hoop, whilst St Margaret’s House grounds include the indoor swimming pool.
During free time, Sixth Formers have access to Vines Hall, where they can use the weights/training room, or the gym for basketball, badminton or five-a-side football and hockey. Pupils below Sixth Form may use the gym under the careful supervision of a member of staff or a suitably qualified member of the Sixth Form.
Other facilities include the swimming pool, which is available in the evenings and at weekends, and the Paddock - the School’s main playing field with cricket pitches and practice nets. Our School boat house is on the River Medway and we sometimes go canoeing, or kayaking, which is really great.
Pupils are encouraged to learn a musical instrument and to practice regularly. Facilities at the Music School can be made available for senior pupils to use.
