Gypsy Nash, a pupil at King’s Rochester Preparatory School attended the Kent Schools Athletics Championships held on the 9th-10th June 2018.
Gypsy threw a personal best of 42.22m in the Hammer placing her 4th overall in the UK which gained her a silver medal. She also went on to achieve a new personal best of 30.60m in the discus placing her 8th overall in the UK, as well as securing her the gold.
Both throws were over the entry standard to compete at the English Schools Championships in Birmingham, with her discus PB also achieving the more prestigious national standard to attend the ESAA’s, as well as entry to the England Championships in July. Gypsy has now been selected to represent Kent Schools at the Southern Inter Counties at Crawley, as well as her Kent County selection in September in Oxford.
Other King’s Rochester Preparatory School pupils competing at the Championships were Hamish Crockford, Katriona Cumming and Jemima Partner.
Hamish achieved 9th place with a 29.33 Javelin throw and 12th place in Long Jump with a distance of 4.36, Katriona achieved two personal bests in the 200m and 100m, 30.1 and 14.5 respectively. Jemima ran the 100m in 15.1 and achieved 4th place in Shot with a distance of 6.58.
