EDWARD SECURES FOURTH ROLE FOR THE ROYAL OPERA HOUSE

King's Rochester is delighted to wish music scholar Edward Hyde many congratulations for securing a central role in the world premiere performance of the opera 'Mamzer Bastard' by Na'ama Zisser.

The opera will be conducted by Jessica Cottis and directed by Jay Scheib.  Edward's character appears throughout the opera as the time frame of the drama cuts back to the protagonist's childhood.

Director of Music at King's Rochester, John Mountford said "The score incorporates the sound world of Orthodox Jewish music and after having looked through the extracts Edward has to prepare, I can attest to its difficulty!"

This is an exceptional achievement and follows Edward's excellent performances in Zauberflöte, Tosca and MacBeth at the Royal Opera House this year.

Performances of  'Mamzer Bastard' will be on the 14th, 15th and 17th June at the Hackney Empire Theatre and tickets can be acquired at www.roh.org.uk
