On Saturday 9th June 2018, a team of talented swimmers from King's Rochester Preparatory School travelled to the Olympic Park in London to compete in the IAPS National Swimming Finals.
Eva Okaro, Izabella Okaro and Nahum Fisher took to the water in the stunning Aquatic Park in an event which saw the strongest swimmers from over 30 schools compete in front of 3,000 spectators.
Nahum swam brilliantly in the U11 50m Freestyle , but it was a very strong field and he qualified in 6th place for the final. Nahum once again swam well, but couldn’t quite catch the leaders. However, he is now placed 6th Nationally.
Izabella swam in the U11 50m Backstroke, she easy met the qualifying time for the final, leaving some in the tank for the final. Here she swam in style easily winning the Gold. Congratulations to Izabella on being the National Champion for the second year running.
Eva swam in the U11 50m Freestyle, unlike her sister she didn’t hold anything back in the tank during the heat. It was full steam ahead and a new Championship record! Eva swam a phenomenal 27.03 and easily won the gold medal in the final. Congratulations to Eva on being the National Champion yet again.
Izabella holds the National U10 Butterfly record and Eva holds the U10 Freestyle record as well as the U11 Freestyle record. I have a feeling the records they have both achieved whilst competing in IAPS will be long standing.
