Farewell to a much-loved Headmistress

Farewell to a much-loved Headmistress

King’s Rochester Nursery and Pre-Preparatory School waved a sad “Goodbye” to current Headmistress, Mrs Sarah Skillern, at the end of term this week when she left to take up a new Headship in Cambridgeshire from September.

During her seven, highly successful years at the school, Mrs Skillern has led the school through an outstanding ISI inspection and has overseen growth to its current, oversubscribed state.

She will be succeeded by Mrs Catherine Openshaw from Solefield School in Sevenoaks who will join King’s Rochester Nursery and Pre-Preparatory School in September at the beginning of the new academic year.

“I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at King’s Rochester”, said Mrs Skillern. “We have fantastic pupils, staff and parents here and I will miss them all very much - even though I am looking forward to the challenges of a new school and to moving back nearer to my roots in Suffolk and to my family. King’s is an amazing school and I am delighted that Mrs Openshaw is going to be the one to lead it forward. I wish her a happy and successful future here”.
