Following a year of intensive auditions, George Crawford (French horn) and Edward Hyde (trombone) have been awarded places in the National Children’s Orchestra of Great Britain (NCO).
The auditions were held between October and December last year from what was the largest number of applications ever for the NCO and the standard of competition was exceptionally high.
Edward and George, who are both Music Scholars in Year 8 at King’s Rochester, have worked extremely hard and truly deserve their places in the orchestra. Both students will now represent King’s Rochester, Kent and Great Britain for events across the UK.
Edward’s father had these kind words to say about music at King’s:
“This is fantastic news and certainly reflects and endorses the superb all round music education that King’s Rochester is able to offer to talented musicians”
King’s Rochester congratulates both George and Edward on their success and looks forward to hearing their performances throughout the year.
