Key Stage 2 Results

Pupils in Year 2 in 2015/16 were the first cohort of children to be assessed according to the new-style tasks introduced to cover the new National Curriculum. The "tests" contain many higher order skills not previously expected of Key Stage 1 children and so King's Year 2 pupils and their teachers deserve hearty congratulations on their remarkable achievements this year.

In Reading, 82% of King's pupils achieved scores of 100 or more compared with 64% nationally. In Mathematics, 98% achieved 100 or more in their scores compared with 64% nationally and, in Spelling, Punctuation and Grammar, 84% of King's Year 2s achieved scores of 100 or more compared with 56% nationally. With 100 being the expected level of achievement for a Year 2 pupil, broad-ability King's is delighted to be able to share such pleasing results which are a true testament to the hard work of both pupils and staff in their preparation for the new-style tests.
