MOSQUE TRIP GRANTS PUPILS A DEEPER INSIGHT INTO ISLAM

MOSQUE TRIP GRANTS PUPILS A DEEPER INSIGHT INTO ISLAM

On Monday 5th March 2018 the Upper Fifth travelled to Woking to visit the first and oldest Mosque in England.

Upon arriving pupils took on a challenge to sketch the mosque, ensuring they captured the intricate detail of the architecture. They then made their way inside to talk to the Imam, about different aspects of Islam.

After lunch pupils were allowed to witness midday prayers and then enjoyed a Q & A with Imam, where he allowed them to ask anything they wanted to know (as long as it was about Islam).

Our pupils asked him lots of very challenging questions and he did an excellent job of explaining and defending his beliefs and ideas – it was an insightful visit and really deepened our pupil's understanding of Islam.

An all-around fun day learning about Islam for our Religious Studies GCSE.
