On Friday 8th December, 11 pupils, Mr. Mountford and Rvd. Padfield accepted an invitation to sing carols at the Wisdom Hospice in Rochester.
A warm welcome awaited them as they performed to 30 people in the visitors’ day room and then to many more on the in-patients’ ward. Just as they were preparing to head towards the mince pies, they noticed that one patient, an elderly lady, had just been moved to a location where she could see the carolling pupils, so Once In Royal David’s City was immediately performed as an encore.
Many thanks to Markham and Susan Chesterfield who organised the visit, and to the staff and patients of Wisdom Hospice for their hospitality.
