RECORD BREAKING SWIMMERS ARE NATIONAL CHAMPIONS

King’s Rochester Preparatory School pupils had plenty to celebrate this weekend when they won the National Finals of the English Schools Swimming Association’s 23rd Primary Schools Team Championships in both the Freestyle Relay and Medley Relay and also broke the National Records in both events!

Nahum Fisher age 10, Natasha Goodyear age 11, and twins Eva and Izabella Okaro age 10, travelled to the event in Sheffield on Saturday 17 June 2017 to compete having successfully participated in the County Championships held at Medway Park and the Regional Championships held in Guilford.

In the Freestyle Relay the team broke the National Record with a time of 55.99 and in the Medley they broke the National Record with a time 1.03.55.

Both were outstanding performances from the King’s Team and we are delighted with their success. We now hold two National Swimming Records!

This success comes after their individual successes in the IASP National Finals on 6 May, where all four swimmers also won places in the final of the finals in their stroke with Eva winning the U10 25m Freestyle and Izabella winning the U10 Butterfly whilst Nahum was second in the 25m Freestyle and Natasha was placed sixth in the 50m Backstroke. All of them are ones to watch for the future!
