Raphael takes to the stage at the Royal Opera House

After his breath-taking appearance singing solo at the Official Opening of the Rugby World Cup last year, Year 9 pupil Raphael Janssens made his Covent Garden début last week as the Shepherd Boy in Wagner’s Tannhauser staged at the Royal Opera House and running from April 26th to May 15th. Raphael is sharing the stage with international opera stars, Peter Seiffert, Emma Bell and Sophie Koch and was thrilled to have his own dressing room on the same floor as theirs! Taking curtain calls with such a stellar cast (pictured below, with Raphael far right in the line-up) has also been a high spot for our talented, young performer!

“I am so lucky to have had this opportunity”, says Raphael. “The work is hard, involving a good deal of travel, late nights and waiting. However, it is all worth it to be able to work alongside some of the world’s most renowned musicians at one of the world’s most prestigious Opera Houses”.
