King’s Rochester student, Sophie Guillemot, has received an offer to study Chemistry at Keble College Oxford. Sophie initially came from France to King’s for one year at the young age of 11 to learn English, but loved it so much that she has been a full time boarding student ever since.
A keen scientist, Sophie is studying for five A levels in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Maths and Further Maths and is predicted to achieve four A* grades and an A. Her passion though is Chemistry and her Extended Project Qualification enabled her to research the mystical chemical influences of the ‘Haitian Zombies’ much to the fascination of fellow students and staff.
Sophie enthused “I have really loved my time boarding at King’s Rochester. The teachers genuinely care about the students as individuals and not as numbers, plus the quality of discussion around my favourite subjects with the other students has been inspirational. I have loved my second home here.”
After her Chemistry degree, Sophie is hoping to continue to study Medicine in a top international university in Canada from where she can launch a global career in Surgery. With such high aspirations and tremendous ability, King’s Rochester is sure she will reach her goals and is delighted to have been able to provide the strong foundations for future success.
