Services of Remembrance

The Senior Choir have been working particularly hard this week, beginning with their participation in in the Cathedral Remembrance Evensong on Sunday. It is always a challenging and important  musical event for the choir and they performed to a very high standard. Owen (Upper Fifth) and Amelia (Lower Sixth) sang the challenging solos in Stanford’s Evening Setting in G, while Jacob (Lower Sixth) sang a memorable Libera me solo from Faure’s Requiem.  Organ Scholar George (Lower Sixth) once again provided organ music before the service and also accompanied the hymns and Psalms.  All performers must be thanked for their diligence in ensuring that the music was at the standard expected for a Cathedral Evensong.

The service at the Cathedral was preceded by the Remembrance Sunday procession of civic VIPS, serving military personnel and veterans along Rochester High Street. King’s Rochester CCF Cadets and their Commanding Officers took part in the Parade and laid their wreaths at the War Memorial together with many other members of the community.

King’s Senior School Service of Remembrance takes place in the Cathedral on Wednesday and we hope to see as many parents as possible as we in the King’s community commemorate those who have given so much to serve our country.
